Russian Business Visa

Business visa is Issued to those who intend to go to to enter Russia for business purposes. Business visa can be valid for up to 90 days and can be issued for single or double entry. Also, business visa can be issued for multiple entries and can be valid for up to 1 year. Dates of validity of the visa will correspond with the dates of your legal invitation issued by the General Directorate for Migration for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Russian Tourist Visa

Tourist visa is issued to those who intend to enter Russian Federation for tourism purposes. Tourist visa can be valid for up to 30 days and can be issued for single or double entry. Dates of validity of the visa will correspond with the dates of your legal invitation.

Russian Privet Visa

Privet visa is issued to those who wish to enter Russian Federation to visit family or friends. Private visa can be valid for up to 90 days and can be issued for single or double entry. Dates of validity of the visa will correspond with the dates mentioned on your private invitation from relatives/friend in Russia.

Russian Student Visa

Student visa is issued to those who intend to enter Russia to study in any Russian University or attend short term courses. Student visa can be valid for up to 90 days and can be issued for single or double entry. Dates of validity of the visa will correspond with the dates of your legal invitation issued by the General Directorate for Migration for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Russian Work

Work/Employment visa is Issued to those who intend to enter Russian Federation for employment. Work visa can be valid for up to 90 days and can be issued for single or double entry. Also work visa can be issued for multiple entries and can be valid for up to 3 years. Dates of validity of the visa will correspond with the dates of your legal invitation issued by the General Directorate for Migration for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Russian Transit Visa

A Transit Visa is not required if you remain in the transit zone of the airport in order to catch an onward or connecting flight within 24 hours of arrival. Transit visas are normally valid for maximum of 3 days if travelling by air and 10 if travelling by train.

Russian Crew Visa

Crew visa is issued to foreign crew members of means of international transportation, including aircraft, trains and ships, or motor vehicle drivers engaged in cross-border transport activities, or to the accompanying family members of the crew members of the above-mentioned ships.

Russian Tourist Visa Requirements for United Kingdom Citizen

Passport

The passport must:

• Be valid for at least 180 days beyond exit date.
• Have at least two blank visa pages.

Russian Visa Application form

This Application form must:

• Be completed online and printed out
• Be completed not earlier then 7 days from the date of submission.
• Have the applicant's original signature.
• Have no handwritten changes.

Photograph

The photograph must:

• Be taken within the last three months.
• Be taken against white background.
• Be 35 mm x 45 mm in size.

Tourist Voucher

Tourist Voucher and Confirmation must:

• Be stamped and signed by an authorised person from the Russian Foreign Ministry
• Be issued for stay of 30 days or less
• Bear the exact entry and exit dates required by the applicant and as stated on the visa application form

Russian Business Visa Requirements for United Kingdom Citizen

Passport

The applicant's passport must:   

• Be valid for six months beyond the expiry date of the visa.
• Have at least three consecutive blank visa pages 
• Be machine readable
• Not contain any Israeli stamp

Russian Visa Application form

This Application form must:

• Be completed online and printed out
• Be completed not earlier then 7 days from the date of submission.
• Have the applicant's original signature.
• Have no handwritten changes.

Photograph 

The photograph must:

• Be taken within the last three months.
• Be taken against white background.
• Be 35 mm x 45 mm in size. 

Please note:
Please do not use stapler when attaching the photograph to the application.

Letter of invitation

The letter of invitation must:

• Be issued by appropriate Russian Federation Migration Service branch.
• Have official seal and legal address of the host institution.
• Have document registration number and date of registration.
• Have signature and name of the official authorized to invite foreigners to Russia.
• Have purpose of visit, dates of stay, names of persons invited.

Important Notes

• Applicants who are self -employed, company directors, working from home or unemployed need to provide bank statements for the last three months which have a current balance of a minimum of £100 per day for the duration of the visit (not required for housewives, students and retired applicants).  
If you wish to provide online banking printouts, please make sure they will be certified and stamped by your bank.
• Applicants travelling to any of the following restricted areas: Dagestan, Chechnya, North Osetia or Ingushetia will be referred for approximately ten working days.
• Applicants are allowed to hold one valid Russian visa at any one time. Applicants holding a valid visa in a current or second passport must present this for cancellation upon submission of a new visa application.
• Applicants who are under the age of 16 must provide letters from both parents confirming details of the journey, names of accompanying travellers and confirming that parents have no objection to the planned trip. They also have to provide passport copies of both parents and a copy of child’s birth certificate. If at least one of child’s parents is a Russian citizen, they must apply for a private visa.
• For those who were born in Russia or USSR  need to complete this additional form.
